Quokka Island Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 3, 2026
Quokka Island ("the game") is made by Cozy Island Games ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the game collects, why, who it's shared with, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. It's written for players and for parents. Quokka Island is for players 13 and over. Questions: support@cozyislandgames.com.
The short version
- You don't need to give us your name, email, or any other personal details to play.
- Your island is saved to a random account ID, so you can keep playing and not lose progress.
- Crash reports only help us fix bugs. They don't include who you are.
- Quokka Island is for players 13 and over. If someone tells the game they're under 13, the game stops and deletes the account it made.
- Ads are optional (you choose to watch a video for leaves or coins). Players under 18 only see non-personalized ads.
- We don't sell your information.
Information we collect
When you start playing
- Your age group. The first time you open the game, it asks your age and works out your age group (13 to 17, or 18 and over). We keep only the age group, not your age, so the game can follow the right rules for you. If the answer is under 13, see "Children under 13" below.
- Google Play's age signal. In some places (for example Texas and Brazil) the law has Google Play tell apps a player's age range, or that a parent supervises the account. The game reads it on your phone only, to apply the rules for the younger of that age and the one you entered. It's never stored, sent to us, or used for ads.
- A random account ID that we create for you. It isn't linked to your name or email. Your island is saved under it.
If you link Google Play Games (optional)
- Your Play Games player ID, so you can get your island back on a new phone. We don't receive your email address or your Google account details.
Your game
- Game progress: your island, your quokkas and their happiness, tasks and quests, clothing and items, and your leaves and coins balances. It's saved on your device and on our servers.
- Game activity our servers need: when a play session starts, task and reward claims, daily bonus claims, and what you spend leaves and coins on. We use these to run the game and keep it fair (for example daily limits on leaves) and to stop cheating.
Purchases
- Google Play handles every payment. We never see card or payment details.
- We receive a purchase record (what was bought, when, and a purchase token) through our purchase provider, RevenueCat, so we can deliver what was bought and restore it.
Ads
Ads are only shown when you choose to watch a video for leaves or coins. Our ad provider is Google AdMob.
- Players 13 to 17: only non-personalized ads, suitable for teens at most. Where Google Play tells the game a player is under 18, these rules apply whatever age was entered.
- Players 18 and over: ads are personalized only if you agree. Where the law requires it (for example in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland), the game asks first with Google's consent message, and you can change your answer in Settings at any time.
- To show and measure ads and prevent fraud, AdMob receives information from your device such as its IP address (which gives an approximate location), device and app details, whether you watched the ad, and the device's advertising ID (for players under 18, and adults who don't agree to personalized ads, only to limit how often an ad shows, measure it and prevent fraud). No player is ever shown ads rated for adults only, or ads for gambling or tobacco. See how Google uses this: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
Crash reports
If the game crashes, Firebase Crashlytics (Google) sends a crash report: where the game's code went wrong, the device model and operating system version, and a random installation ID. We use crash reports only to find and fix bugs. We don't add your account ID, age group, game content or anything else about you to them.
If you contact us
If you write to us (by email or with the form at cozyislandgames.com/contact), we receive your email address, your message, and your account ID if you include it. We use them only to answer you and to fix the problem you tell us about. The game is for players 13 and over; if a child under 13 writes to us, we use their email address only to reply once and then delete it.
What we don't collect
- The game never asks for names, email addresses, phone numbers or home addresses.
- No precise location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone.
- No chat or messages between players, and no way to share content with other players.
- No analytics or tracking beyond what's listed here.
How we use information
- To run the game: saving your island, delivering rewards and purchases, restoring your island on a new phone.
- To keep the game fair and safe: checking rewards and purchases on our servers and preventing cheating and fraud.
- To fix bugs (crash reports).
- To show the optional ads you choose to watch, following the rules for your age group.
- To follow the rules for your age (including turning away players under 13).
- To answer you when you contact us.
How the game's IDs are used
The game uses three random IDs. None contains your name or contact details, and we use them only for the purposes below, never to build a profile of you or to target ads:
- Your account ID (made by the game when you first play) is used to: save your island and load it again; link it to Play Games so you can get it back on a new phone; apply daily limits and stop cheating and fraud; delete your account when asked; and find your account when you contact us about it.
- Your store ID (made by our server for your account, and never shown) is used to deliver, check and restore purchases (RevenueCat stores purchases under it) and to give you leaves or coins after a rewarded video (Google AdMob tells our server which store ID watched it). These services never get your account ID.
- The crash reporter's installation ID (made by Firebase Crashlytics on your device) is used only to group crash reports from the same install, so we can tell how many players a bug affects. It isn't linked to your account ID.
To stop cheating and fraud, the game also asks Google Play Integrity to confirm that it's the genuine game from Google Play on a genuine device. Google sends our server an answer about the game and the device, not your personal information.
We don't sell personal information and don't share it for cross-context behavioural advertising except as described for players 18 and over who agree to personalized ads.
Who we share information with
Only the service providers that run parts of the game for us:
| Provider | What for | Their privacy policy |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Accounts, game servers and database | supabase.com/privacy |
| Google Play (Billing, Play Games, Play Integrity) | Payments, optional Play Games linking, and checking the game is genuine | policies.google.com/privacy |
| RevenueCat | Checking and restoring purchases | www.revenuecat.com/privacy |
| Google AdMob | Optional rewarded ads | policies.google.com/privacy |
| Firebase Crashlytics (Google) | Crash reports | firebase.google.com/support/privacy |
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect players and the game from fraud or abuse.
Children under 13
Quokka Island is for players 13 and over and isn't directed to children under 13.
- Every new player is asked their age before playing. If the answer is under 13 (or Google Play tells the game the player is under 13), the game stops there: it deletes the account it made on our servers, with everything linked to it, and keeps only a note on the phone so the game stays closed.
- We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think a child under 13 is playing, write to support@cozyislandgames.com with the account ID shown in the game (Settings) and we'll delete the account once we've checked the request (below).
Teens and parents
- Players 13 to 17 only see non-personalized ads, and no ad is rated above Teen.
- Nobody can chat, message, or share anything with other players.
- Purchases go through Google Play. If a parent supervises the account with Family Link, Google Play asks the parent to approve purchases (parents choose this in the Family Link app).
- Parents of players under 18 can ask us to show or delete the information linked to their teen's account by writing to support@cozyislandgames.com with the account ID shown in the game (Settings). The account can also be deleted in the game at any time.
Where information is stored and how it's protected
Our servers are run by Supabase and Google, and information may be processed outside your country. Everything is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), stored with the providers' security measures, and accessible only to what each part of the game needs.
How long we keep information
| Information | How long |
|---|---|
| Account, age group and game progress | Until the account is deleted, or 2 years after the last time it was played (then it is deleted automatically), whichever comes first |
| Purchase records | As long as tax and accounting law requires (up to 7 years), separated from the account after it's deleted |
| Game activity records (claims, spending) | Up to 1 year, then deleted or kept only in summaries that don't identify anyone |
| Crash reports | Up to 90 days |
| Messages to support | Up to 2 years after the conversation ends |
Your choices and rights
- Delete your account at any time: in the game (Settings → Delete account) or as explained at cozyislandgames.com/delete-account.
- Ads: players 18 and over can change their ad consent in Settings. Anyone can reset or delete the device's advertising ID in the device's settings.
- Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in Europe and the UK, or US state laws like the CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or get a copy of your information, to object to or limit some uses, and to complain to your data protection authority. Write to support@cozyislandgames.com with your account ID; we'll answer within 30 days.
- Anyone who has seen your screen could know your account ID, so we never act on the ID alone: before we delete, move or show an account's information, we check the request is yours (a Google Play order number from that account, or an account that hasn't been played for 14 days and something about its island), as our account deletion page explains: cozyislandgames.com/delete-account.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above, and the game asks you to read it and agree again before you play.
